It`s great to have so many ways to say Hello. We also have to mae variants like Privet, Zdravstvui, Dobryi den etc. But usualle we say Privet to our friends and Zdravstvuite to the people we don`t know or to adlts.
Of course Russian language have so many ways to say "hello". For example men's can pat on the shoulder then hug each other . But young men's sometimes copy American youth. It can be so many examples of shaking hand when they met)
In Russia men also shake hands each other when they meet. But girls especially young ones may hug and kiss each other if they are friends of course.
